the forest of REPAIR-ations

In conjunction with Chris Jordan: Running the Numbers, Virginia-based artist and arts choreographer, Jennifer Van Winkle will create the forest of REPAIR-ations, a collaborative, site-specific installation in the JSMA’s Interactive Discovery Gallery (IDG) and reception areas.  the forest of REPAIR-ations, will focus on the ideas of mending, making amends and adding amendments.  Van Winkle, artist in residence, will work with students on- and off-campus to create free-standing hammocks constructed from recycled materials, a forest of reclaimed materials, and a large abacus to count off consumer statistics as part of the artist’s “sustaining creativity: new experiences>reused materials” series.  Soundscapes composed of natural and human made sounds will be featured in the installation.

Wow, this is awesome! I’ve thoroughly enjoyed keeping tabs on the River House through this blog (which looks great, by the way!). Keep up all the good work ladies and gentlemen!
