There’s No Such Thing As Bad Weather, Just Bad Gear!

6 06 2011

Memorial Day weekend myself and a handful of other friends braved the rainy, cold, and snowy weather to have an adventure packed weekend!  We headed to Diamond Lake because it aided our desire to have a multi-sport filled weekend.  It is only 1 hr. from the south entrance of Crater Lake and 30 min. to the North Umpqua River put-in.  We had a great time skiing some pow and also rafting high and fun water!

We were all lucky enough to have some great gear along which kept us warm and comfortable.  Aimee Goglia is the one that always says there’s no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear!  One of the key concepts to being comfortable in any outdoor sport is layering. Check out the NOLS video below on tips to layering in cold temps.

Even with the change into warmer weather, properly layering is a key concept for all outdoor adventures.  Adventure on!
